What is the H4HC Advocacy Program?
The H4HC Advocacy program is made up of thousands of home health care supporters nationwide. Advocates generally communicate with their own Members of Congress through letters, phone calls, meetings and other correspondence to educate legislators on the importance of home care and supporting frontline workers. All of this can be done in just a few clicks.
What are the benefits of being an Advocate?
H4HC advocates join a community of like-minded people, collectively supporting home health care across the nation. Our Action Alerts and online tools make it easy for Advocates to contact their national and state representatives, and our Grassroots Team offers training, experience, and support throughout the year.
How much time will I have to invest?
We welcome all levels of support to our Advocacy program. Some of our Advocates take a few moments to contact their legislators, while more advanced Advocates attend Advocacy Days at their state capitol, or offer to host legislative visits. There are dozens of ways to support home health care and we welcome everyone to share their voice to support caregivers and their clients.
What are typical ways that Advocate support Home Health Care?
Action Alerts: It's critical that we educate our lawmakers about the importance and urgency of supporting home health care. Taking action via Action Alert emails takes less than two minutes, but has a major impact in illustrating to lawmakers and their staffers what issues matter most to their constituents. In just a few clicks, you can make a difference.
Advocacy Days: Together, we’ll advocate for key home health care issues , including equitable Medicaid reimbursement, reducing regulatory burdens, and safeguarding access to high-quality, cost-effective in-home care.
Interact with the Community: We encourage our advocates to share their stories, experiences, knowledge, and triumphs with one another during our in-person and online events. Everyone is invited to join our national advocacy program, where we strive to make quality home health care available to everyone.
Do I need experience?
No prior advocacy experience? No problem! H4HC will guide you every step of the way, even if you're just starting out. You’ll be part of a group led by experienced advocates, with all legislative meetings pre-scheduled by H4HC staff, and Action Alerts that include pre-written letters that you can send to your representatives.
Is there a fee for being an Advocate?
No! H4HC is a free program open to anyone looking to make a positive difference in the lives of those who rely on this type of care. Sign up today to be a part of our movement.
