Key Federal Issues
Home Health
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have cut funding to Medicare home health yearly since 2020. In June, CMS proposed new cuts totally $280 million in 2025 alone. Cuts to home health care funding threaten access to care to vulnerable populations. H4HC is tracking this issue closely and will update accordingly.
Medicaid
Recently, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the House Budget Bill and reconciliation framework that requires the House Energy and Commerce Committee to cut spending by $880 billion in ten years in programs under their authority. One of the major programs they oversee is Medicaid funding.
Hospice
What is Palliative Care? Interdisciplinary care provided by a team in order to treat serious illness. Includes: symptom management, patient and caregiver support, focus on at-home care. It can include advance care planning, end-of-life care, and bereavement support. Learn more about current legislation that would support this vital care option.
