The 2024 legislative session began on January 9, 2024 as new and seasoned legislators were sworn into office. The Governor typically releases their budget in late February. After that, the Governor’s budgetary considerations are heard in committee through late May. Finally, once the legislature agrees on a final budget, it is presented to the Governor and they will sign off on the revised version in late June.
